High School Eligibility
The Lincoln Cougars use the NCHC Age and Gender Eligibility for High School.
Age & Gender Eligibility
Gender: A player’s eligibility is restricted to the gender division corresponding to their sex as recorded on their original birth certificate. No exceptions will be made.
Division Placement
If your student turns 15 after December 31, they must play in our high school division. Some younger girls may be asked to move up to high school if there is a position to fill, but it is your choice whether to accept or not. Your daughter’s last year of eligibility will be the last year she is 18 and won’t turn 19 before September 1.
Academic Requirements
Each player must be listed as a student for Rule 13 from the Nebraska Department of Education. If your child attends a school outside of your homeschool 51% or more of the time, please visit with the Athletic Director, as this will affect the player’s eligibility for certain tournaments.
Junior High Eligibility
Program Details
The Cougars Junior High program is for girls in 7th and 8th grade ages 12 - 14 (they have turned 12 by August 31 and haven’t turned 15 by December 31). If your student turns 15 after December 31, they must play High School. Some younger girls may be asked to move up to High School, but it is your choice whether to accept or not.
6th Grade Participation
We sometimes need a couple of players to round out our JH teams and will call up a couple of the older and more skilled 6th graders. When we know how many we need to bring up from the 6th grade, we will hold a try-out at the end of July. Coaches are also watching your daughter's skill level during April Clinics.
